Wedding Ceremony Music Selection - ( Part 2 )

I would personally prefer a live band because it is more authentic, but a dj is certainly less expensive and can play any request you have. Either way each option has it's advantages. After you find DJ for your wedding ceremony and party, you need to have a personal encounter with him or her and discuss exactly what type of music you want for each part of the wedding.

Decide what you need for the reception, ceremony and party because each part has a different ambience.

What style do you want your wedding music to be ?

Find out about the DJ's experience with weddings and ask him or her what type of music they played at previous weddings. If you do decide to go with a live band you have plenty of options to choose from. You can get Hassidic bands, a jazz band, rock n roll band and so on. That is up to you and your lover to decide on together. If your wedding is old fashioned you will probably opt for a classical band with pianists and so on.

Do you want your guests to dance away the whole wedding

If your guests are formal and old this would be best because they would also probably enjoy it the most. If you're a young and lively couple and you want your guests to dance away the whole wedding night then you should opt for the Rock n roll band because that really gets people in the mood for a good Boogy down or some groovy grinding action.

You need to hear their music before so that you can decide

You can have them band play great oldies hits or contemporary music your guests would love to jam to. Obviously before you hire a band you should ask to see them play at a different occasion and request a recommendation or two. You need to hear their music before so that you can decide if their style is suitable for your wedding and ceremony. If you don't like their music there's no point in hiring them for your wedding, is there. The wisest thing to do is to hire a band that already has wedding experience and that has played at several weddings before.

Make sure to have music constantly playing throughout the wedding

This way you know that they are professionals and that they also know what to expect when they get to your wedding and how to create the best atmosphere for your guests. Make sure to have music constantly playing even if you're just taking pictures or if the newlyweds are walking around thanking their guests. This way the festive ambience never dies out after the wedding ceremony and there is an overall happy and entertaining atmosphere even when the guests aren't up and dancing.
